Our Mission
*
Our mission is to provide the people who live in and around La Ceiba with the essentials. Food, water, clothing, love, education and of course the message of hope that only Jesus can give.
*
We believe that in filling someone's most basic needs, God's love will shine through those actions more than it ever could through our words. For this reason, we will work closely with other local Hondurans to fill their needs, in an effort to bring hope to a broken country.
*
Our goal is to live our lives in service of both God and the people of Honduras.

"For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in,
I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me."
Matthew 25 : 35-36

Ministries
Outreach
Our primary purpose is to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with the forgotten street children and orphans of La Ceiba, Honduras. Our outreach will take place on the streets, in the parks and in the city center of La Ceiba. We will present the gospel through acts of love and kindness. We are also partnering with local churches to creatively present the gospel through music, drama and testimony.
Humanitarian Relief
"The people are hungry Lord, ... then give them something to eat." (Matt. 14:15)
Feeding the street children of La Ceiba is a priority. Some of the meals will be prepared in our home and then taken to the hungry within the city centre. At other times the hungry literally come in to our house to eat with us as a family. We have had as many as 24 people here at one time. We also want to bless the children and give them the opportunities you all have. To try a pizza, a hamburger etc. Many street orphans live and sleep within sight of a fast food chain and yet regularly go 2-3 days without a meal. This has to change, and we can be the ones to change it. We also hope to receive shipments of clothing and gifts as well as Christmas shoe boxes to distribute to those most vunerable and in need. We have already established an excellent working relationship partnering with Bill and Mary K. at Ninos De La Luz (Children Of The Light). A project that offers 24 hour support and care for orphans and street children.
Education
Within one year of our arrival we foresee having a free literacy program in place for the street orphans we are working with. We want to break the cycle of poverty by equipping this generation with the ability to read and write.
On December 1st we will partner with friends Bill and Mary to break ground on a school building. This school will open January 2006 and will serve not only the orphans who live at the project but also neighbourhood children who presently are not recieving any good form of education. As it opens it will look to serve JK through grade 5. Later on we will extend that one grade per year as the students graduate and the need arises.
Mark and his church pastor Alan have been granted permission to enter local bilingual schools to teach an ethics class as well as to teach on the person of Christ. This is particularly rewarding for Mark who, as you can imagine, misses terribly his past involvement with Hamilton high school students
With one of the highest HIV/AIDS rate in the Americas, many of the street children have already lost mom and dad. This generation of youth needs to hear about the biblical principal of abstinence, in the hope that they will not follow the generation that came before them.
